Three kinds of Friends!

Variyar Swamigal sorts the friends into three categories and compares them to three trees: Palm tree, coconut tree, and areca nut tree.

The palm tree grows from the nut on its own, draws the sap, thrives, grows, and yields the fruits. Some friends are like the Palm trees, coming forward to offer help voluntarily.

The coconut tree thrives on occasional watering, grows, and gives us coconuts. Some friends are like this. They remember the help we offered them a long time ago and help us when we need help.

Areca nut tree demands daily watering to grow and thrive. Some friends remember us only by taking help from us frequently.
